How we handle names, emails, and the charts you send

What we collect

From the enquiry form: name, email address, the sitting you selected, a preferred date, the market you trade, and the message you write. If you book, we also keep correspondence, deposit records, and the chart files you send so the hour can be prepared. We do not ask for account numbers, passwords, or copies of identity documents as a matter of course.

Why we use it

We use this information to answer enquiries, schedule sittings, prepare markup, send the follow-up note, and keep accounts. The legal bases are steps toward a contract (a booked sitting) and legitimate interests in running a small teaching studio. Where we rely on consent — for optional visit counting described on the cookies page — you may withdraw it without affecting the tuition itself.

Retention

Unsuccessful enquiries are kept for 12 months in case you write again, then deleted. Booking records and invoices are kept for six years to meet ordinary accounting needs in the United Kingdom. Chart files are kept for 90 days after the sitting (or after the last week of a stretch) unless you ask us to delete them sooner, in which case we will, except for copies we must keep to show what was taught if a dispute is open.

Who sees it

Alistair Crowe and Priya Nair. A bookkeeper may see names, dates, and amounts, not your charts. We do not sell lists. Hosting and email providers may process data as processors in order to deliver the site and mail; they are not given your files to read for their own purposes.

International transfers

If an email or hosting provider stores mail outside the United Kingdom, we rely on UK-approved transfer tools such as the relevant addendum to standard contractual clauses, or on a provider established in a country covered by UK adequacy regulations. Chart packs are not uploaded to public folders.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold, correction of inaccuracies, deletion where we have no overriding need to keep it, restriction of processing, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also ask for data you provided to be passed to another controller in a reasonable machine-readable form. Write to info@cloud-mappoint.digital. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with our reply.

Children

Tuition is aimed at adults who already trade. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If our practices change in a material way, we will update this page and, where a change affects an existing booking, we will mention it in correspondence.
